Toenji temple

Subordinate temple of Mt. Hiei-zan Enryaku-ji Temple

Toenji temple founded as dojo studio of Mount Fuji ascetic practices in 810 (Konin 1) is subordinate temple of Mt. Hiei-zan Enryaku-ji Temple. Current principal idol was three Amida divinities image and was cost pittance of any people regardless of age or sex of Shibokusa-mura in the Edo era. When it is spring, row of cherry blossom trees along stone stairway is in full glory with Fujizakura appearing on the Bell Tower gate. kori, bell tower gate, the main gate of a Buddhist temple, Jizo shrines stand other than the main hall of a Buddhist temple in site, and three guardian deities of children is enshrined in Jizo shrine.
